Dogs generally accept the product well. It mixes well in soft food, but if you only feed dry food try moistening the dry food a little so that the powder sticks to it, or mix some warm water into the powder, then mix into the dry food.
Cats, however, can be very finicky eaters. If your cat is finicky and won’t touch the food, it is probably because it smells different than he is used to. For finicky cats, start with a small pinch of the powder mixed in soft food the first day, than GRADUALLY increase the dosage over 10-14 days. Most cats will accept it when it is introduced slowly this way. Mix it into a small amount of canned food, and don’t feed your cat any other food until he eats it. Or, you can try mixing it into anything your cat really likes (baby food, tuna or juice from tuna, etc.). For more immediate relief, mix powder into small amount of soft canned food, make a meatball and place directly into cat’s mouth (between jaw and gums). Another option is to get some Nutrical (this is a high caloric nutritional supplement sold by most vets and pet shops that comes in a tube). Squeeze out the Nutrical, then dab it into the powder and place this into cat’s mouth (Nutrical is sticky and will stick to roof of mouth so that cat can’t spit it out). Remember, the product will not work well until it is dosed high enough (start with recommended dosage on label, and increase after two or three days if necessary).
If your pet is a finicky eater, we highly recommend that you use our 1 oz. homeopathic liquids for constipation or diarrhea in combination with Lax-eze or Diar-eze. These are easy to administer, and should help to bring relief while you are building up the dose of our Lax-eze or Diar-eze product. Remember, your pet is like a baby and, just like in dealing with a baby, pets are helpless and rely on their owners’ help in dealing with health issues. These are great, all natural products that have worked very well when used and dosed properly, but you must get the products into your pet at the appropriate dosage in order to help your pet. Your pet is not the boss, YOU are the boss. Resolve to do what is necessary to help him. Only you know your pet well enough to get him to accept the product – we can only offer some suggestions that have worked well for others.
